The safety of our students is our highest priority. To help us ensure every child arrives safely at school each day, Collettville uses the SchoolMessenger SafeArrival system. This system makes it easy for parents and guardians to report absences, and helps us follow up quickly when a student is unaccounted for.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
-
Report your child’s absence before the school day begins (before 8:55 a.m.).
-
Provide the reason for the absence (illness, appointment, family emergency, etc.).
-
Keep your contact information current so we can reach you if necessary.
How to Report an Absence
You can report an absence in three convenient ways:
-
SchoolMessenger App – Download the app (iOS or Android), log in with your contact information, and quickly submit an absence.
-
Website – Visit https://go.schoolmessenger.ca to log in and record an absence.
-
Toll-Free Phone – Call the automated system at 1-844-434-8117 and follow the prompts.
Absences should be reported each day your child is away, unless you indicate the absence will be for multiple days.
If We Don’t Hear From You
If your child is absent and we have not received notification:
-
The system will automatically attempt to contact you by phone, email, or app notification.
-
If the absence remains unexplained, school staff will follow up directly to ensure your child’s safety.
Late Arrivals
Students who arrive late must check in at the office before going to class. This ensures our records are accurate and that every student is accounted for.
Thank you for your support with this. If you have any questions, please contact the Office at 250-378-2230 or by email at CVschool@365.sd58.bc.ca
