    SUCCESS FOR ALL LEARNERS

OUR VALUES

1. Respect – for self, for others, for property, and for different perspectives
2. Pride – in self, in culture, in bilingualism, and in our individual learning journeys
3. Community – through meaningful connections and strong sense of belonging

OUR VISION

We envision a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning community, united by a proud commitment to bilingualism and a celebration of diverse cultures, identities, and worldviews. We aspire to nurture an environment where every child is empowered to grow both academically and personally while recognizing their intrinsic worth and potential.

OUR MISSION

We are committed to nurturing the social, emotional, and physical well-being of all members of our school community. Rooted in respect, reciprocity, and relationship, we strive to create a strong sense of belonging where students, families, and staff feel seen, heard, valued, and connected. We honour the voices, cultures, and contributions of all members of our community as we create a learning environment where learners are empowered to explore their identities, share their perspectives, and grow as curious, intrinsically motivated, lifelong learners.

Safe Arrival at Collettville - Student Absence Reporting

The safety of our students is our highest priority. To help us ensure every child arrives safely at school each day, Collettville uses the SchoolMessenger SafeArrival system. This system makes it easy for parents and guardians to report absences, and helps us follow up quickly when a student is unaccounted for.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

  • Report your child’s absence before the school day begins (before 8:55 a.m.).

  • Provide the reason for the absence (illness, appointment, family emergency, etc.).

  • Keep your contact information current so we can reach you if necessary.

How to Report an Absence

You can report an absence in three convenient ways:

  1. SchoolMessenger App – Download the app (iOS or Android), log in with your contact information, and quickly submit an absence.

  2. Website – Visit https://go.schoolmessenger.ca to log in and record an absence.

  3. Toll-Free Phone – Call the automated system at 1-844-434-8117 and follow the prompts.

Absences should be reported each day your child is away, unless you indicate the absence will be for multiple days.

If We Don’t Hear From You

If your child is absent and we have not received notification:

  1. The system will automatically attempt to contact you by phone, email, or app notification.

  2. If the absence remains unexplained, school staff will follow up directly to ensure your child’s safety.

Late Arrivals

Students who arrive late must check in at the office before going to class. This ensures our records are accurate and that every student is accounted for.

Thank you for your support with this. If you have any questions, please contact the Office at 250-378-2230 or by email at CVschool@365.sd58.bc.ca

Family Support at Collettville

At Collettville, we know that children learn best when their basic needs are met. Sometimes families face challenges, and we want you to know that you are not alone. Our school can offer support with essentials to help ensure every student feels ready and comfortable at school.

What We Can Provide

  • Food – access to healthy snacks and meals as needed

  • School supplies – notebooks, pencils, and other learning essentials

  • Clothing items – certain items such as shoes, jackets, or winter wear when required

How to Access Support

If your family could use a hand with any of the above, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can:

  • Speak directly with your child’s teacher

  • Contact the Principal by phone (250-378-2230) or by email (bsambrook@365.sd58.bc.ca)

All requests are handled with care and confidentiality. Our goal is to remove barriers so that every child can feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
